Club History

Founded by Alan Soltani in June 2014, London Storm Dodgeball Club has grown to become the ‘go to’ destination for fun and competitive dodgeball sessions for all abilities in the capital.

Having graduated from university and started working in the city, Alan found himself missing the regular training sessions and social aspect of representing Imperial College Wolverines. He booked a sports hall in SE London for an initial run of 12 weeks and began spreading the word…

With massive help from the dodgeball community to advertise and the flagship ‘bring-a-friend-and-you-both-get-in-free’ policy, London Storm hit the ground running with an impressive 28 attendees at the first session. Just three sessions later and 43 keen dodgers were in attendance. The hashtag was born: ‪#‎StormIsComing‬

For the next year and a half Storm continued to hold open dodgeball sessions but were unable to pin down a permanent location, with stints in Ladbroke Grove and Canada Water. Positively however, during this time they were able to gain some media exposure on London Live and sponsorship from a sports council. In September 2015, Storm relocated to Brixton and had a very successful run at Evelyn Grace Academy. This unfortunately came to an end and Storm found itself back in Canada Water for the summer 2016. In August of the same year, Storm found itself a permanent residence at Ark All Saints Academy near Oval tube station. This continues to be home to our sessions.

Storm regularly attend British Dodgeball tournaments, holds twice-quarterly club socials and continue to provide open, mixed dodgeball sessions for all abilities.
The future looks Stormy…
